SFBuild is a three-month company builder program. We work with scientists and entrepreneurs to build their new biotech startups.

SFBuild

If you want to join our community and start working with us, this is what you need to know about the SFBuild program:

It is free and lasts twelve weeks.

Scientists and business entrepreneurs can participate. Ideally, they will become co-founders.

While most of the program is conducted online, we also hold two in-person meetings: one in Rosario and another in a selected city in Argentina.

Participants receive online formation: sessions with founders and industry specialists, 1-on-1 training with mentors and workshops.

Once the program is completed, the selected projects are presented to the SF500 Investment Committee. If they are approved, the founding of the company, investment and acceleration move forward.

SCIENCE

Who can participate?

Scientists who are actively working on developments linked to life sciences, who aim to solve global problems, and have laboratory results or validation.

What type of projects are we looking for?

We look for projects that are linked to the life sciences (biotechnology, biology, agronomy, biochemistry, medicine), which attempt to solve a global problem and have high potential to improve people’s lives and/or the state of the environment.

We understand life science as anything related to biology and life, but we are also keen on science projects that have their roots in other fields of science, such as chemistry and physics.

They need to have laboratory validation and target a large and growing market. If you have doubts, apply and we will work with you on this.

How is the selection made?

Once you complete and submit the form, we will evaluate your project and contact you to have a video call to get to know you and the rest of your team -if that is the case- and fully understand your proposal. Afterwards, we will notify you if your project was selected or not.

The most advanced projects aligned with the SF500 investment thesis will be invited to participate in the next edition of SFBuild.

BUSINESS

Who can participate?

Entrepreneurs. People who are attracted to solve great challenges. It helps if you have business experience or a strong connection with different industries, especially those related to life sciences.

You must have the ability to form and lead highly resilient teams, to build and communicate the startup’s vision globally and the ability to raise funds and generate traction in the market.

How is the selection made?

Once you fill out the form, someone from the team will contact you for an interview. After that, you will have to participate in the Business Challenge, a week-long challenge to try these waters.

If you are chosen, you can participate in the SFBuild program alongside the scientists.
